EHG × STCC: Swiss hospitality excellence meets Tanzanian ambition
The Ecole Hôtelière de Genève (EHG) is proud to announce the signing of a partnership with the Switzerland-Tanzania Chamber of Commerce (STCC), a collaboration that creates a concrete bridge between Swiss hospitality expertise and the needs of the sector in Tanzania.
Some collaborations start with a document. The strongest begin with a shared vision. In the course of our discussions with STCC, one conviction became clear: Tanzania attracts, inspires and reveals remarkable potential in hospitality. Dynamic establishments, committed teams and exceptional destinations deserve structured, demanding support to match their ambitions.
Founded to strengthen economic relations between Switzerland and Tanzania, the Switzerland-Tanzania Chamber of Commerce plays a key role as facilitator and connector between the two ecosystems. Its local roots, in close contact with the players on the ground, make this partnership particularly relevant and meaningful.
An alliance focused on impact
At EHG, we’ve been training and supporting hospitality professionals since 1914, with high academic standards and a resolutely practical approach. Recognized as one of the best hotel schools in the world, our institution is dedicated to making a real and lasting impact.
STCC’s objective is clear: to contribute to the development of skills, reinforce service standards and support the evolution of the sector in a pragmatic, progressive way, in line with local realities.
As Duncan Robertson, Sales & Marketing Director and Deputy Director of the École Hôtelière de Genève, points out:
“This partnership reflects our desire to share recognized Swiss expertise, while respecting and enhancing local realities. Excellence in hospitality depends on the men and women who bring the experience to life every day. We are delighted to be able to support this dynamic in Tanzania alongside a committed partner like STCC.”
Matthieu Rochat, Executive Director of STCC, comments:
A first pilot project to get the ball rolling
This collaboration will result in concrete initiatives, including an initial pilot course designed to address operational issues in the field: service posture, standards, culture of excellence and management.
The approach is deliberately pragmatic: to offer content that can be applied immediately, built with Swiss standards in mind, while taking into account local constraints – seasonality, team organization and HR realities.
Beyond the training itself, this cooperation embodies a broader ambition: to build lasting bridges between two ecosystems, encourage exchanges and promote skills development in a fast-changing sector.
Because hospitality is not just a question of infrastructure or positioning. It is above all a question of culture, transmission and attention to detail.
This partnership between the École Hôtelière de Genève and the Switzerland-Tanzania Chamber of Commerce marks the beginning of a collaboration that we hope will be useful, demanding and meaningful.
